Dopey Challenge Training -Week in Review

Another week of Dopey Challenge training is in the books and this week brought more success and consistency.  On tap this week was a true Dopey simulation run and a few easier runs on the weekend.  I'm super happy to get the first of three 20 milers on the training plan this week, as opposed to having to knock it out on Thanksgiving.

Monday: 5 miles

Tuesday: 7.1 miles

Wednesday: 10 miles

Thursday: 20 miles!!! (This first 20 miler went well.  I felt about as good as you can feel when running 20 miles).

Friday: 2 miles...which went about as well as you can expect having run 20 miles the day before.

Saturday: 5 miles

Sunday: 7 miles with Nicole.

The training will dial down slightly this upcoming week with a 5-7-10-15.  Still 15 miles on Thanksgiving gives you license to eat as much pie as you want!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Date Based Ticketing Coming to Walt Disney World

In a move that had been highly rumored for months, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida introduced date based ticketing today.  Here's what we know: What is Date Based Ticketing?  -Instead of paying one set price to enter any of Walt Disney World's four theme parks, your price will vary depending on when you go.  Busier times of year (think school breaks and the holidays) are more popular times of the year to go to WDW, so those tickets will be more expensive.  If you travel during a less crowded time of year, those tickets will be less expensive.  This is a system that has been in place at Disneyland Resort in California for single-day tickets for some time now. Disneyland Resort already has date-based ticketing What about Multi-Day Tickets? - The date based ticketing will also apply to multi-day tickets.  So your three day park hopper ticket will vary in price depending on the time of year you travel.  You must also select the time-frame in which you plan to use your t

Best of Epcot

It's no secret that Epcot is my favorite park in Walt Disney World.  I love both sections of the park: Future World & World Showcase.  It's also the finish line of most runDisney races and I love running through Epcot, especially during the Walt Disney World Marathon.  It's hard to decide what sets this park apart as top of the list for me.  But here are some of my FAVORITE things about Epcot. 1) Epcot International Food & Wine Festival - Epcot now has four festivals each year: Epcot Festival of the Arts, Epcot Flower and Garden Festival, Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, and Festival of the Holidays.  While I haven't had a chance to make it to all these seasonal events, I'm always sure to make a trip to the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival.  This seasonal event, running from August to November, features over 20 international marketplaces featuring snacks and drinks from their native countries.  This festival takes eating and drinking a

What I LOVE about Royal Caribbean's Oasis Class Ships

There is something for everyone on a Royal Caribbean Cruise Line vacation.  All the ships are packed with fun and activities, but the Oasis Class ships take things up a notch!  There are currently 4 Oasis Class ships available for booking: Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, and Symphony of the Seas.  The first ship in the class, Oasis of the Seas made its maiden voyage in 2009.   These ships are huge!  In fact, Symphony of the Seas is currently the world's largest cruise ship.  In March of 2019, I was able to take a 7 night sailing on Allure of the Seas and we absolutely fell in love with the Oasis Class of ships.  Here's a list of things that we enjoyed and what you may also love on an Oasis Class ship: 1) The Ship is a Destination  -With all there is to see and do on an Oasis Class ship, it's a destination itself!  I'm convinced that you could have a full vacation with all the ship has to offer without ever getting off the ship at a port.  Th
