2018 Shoreline Half Marathon Recap

This past Saturday, Nicole and I tackled the Shoreline Half Marathon in Hamlin, NY.  The race starts and finishes at Hamlin Beach State Park.  Historically, I've always enjoyed this race and run really good times on the fast and mostly flat course. Nicole and I drove to Brockport on Friday evening and stayed overnight at the Hampton Inn.  It was about 20 minutes from the park and super easy to get to the race start.  The half marathon had an 8:00AM start and the 5K had an 8:30AM start.  We arrived to the park around 7:00AM and quickly picked up our race bibs and my race shirt.  The process was painless.  For the first time this year, the shirt for this race was a light, dry fit tank top.  The quality of the shirt was great, however it is HIGHLIGHTER yellow.  We went back to the car before the race and watched both the temperature and humidity climb. Before long, it was time to move to the start line: At 8:00AM, we were off!  Almost immediately I knew I was over trained for th

Epcot International Food and Wine Festival 2018

It's only July, but it's time to begin talking about the most wonderful time of the year.  I'm not talking about Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas.  I'm talking about the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival! Running from August 30, 2018 through November 12, 2018, the festival packs in SIX WEEKS of culinary demonstrations, fun events, a half marathon, and great eats and sips.  Taste your way around the world! The Ireland booth is always popular International Marketplace Booths - These booths are the heart of the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival.  Each booth features between 3-5 items to snack on as well as several drink options themed around that particular country. Smoked Salmon and Potato Pancake with Herbed Sour Cream from the Scotland booth You can definitely make a meal out of several of these small bites.  Pro Tip:  Split food with someone so you get to try more things! Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios

After much anticipation, Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios is finally open!  The more information I read and pictures I see, the more excited I am (the opening day crowds, not so much).  Originally, I was not super excited about this land coming to Hollywood Studios (though I know that the park needed something for the younger kids).  However, now that it's finally completed, I can't wait to go! Some of the favorite things we love about Pixar Place are still going to be present.  Ever interacted with these guys? They are so much fun! Fan favorite Toy Story Mania is still around so you can still play and try to beat your record.  I still haven't figured out how to beat Nicole.  I'm always leading until the final round and then I never win. It's maddening :) Plus there are two new attractions to enjoy: Slinky Dog Dash & Alien Swirling Saucers. I have to admit, I wasn't too excited for either attraction and Nicole and I discussed s
