Best Rides in each Walt Disney World park

How do you even pick a "best" ride in each of the Walt Disney World parks? How do you compare a classic attraction like Peter Pan's Flight to something state of the art like Flight of Passage?  One has classic Disney storytelling and has been beloved by park guests for years while the other uses cutting edge technology along with storytelling, music, and even smells to create an immersive experience.  In order to pick the best ride in each park, I needed to develop some criteria. 1) Overall Ride Experience  -This is perhaps the most important evaluation tool of all. A great ride experience should have you leaving the attraction with a smile on your face, eager to do it again. 2) Technical Aspects of the ride - Does the ride contain technical innovations?  Or classic technical skills used to great effect? 3) Ride-ability - Can everyone experience this attraction?  What is the height requirement?  What is the motion sickness factor?  4) Ride Story - One area where Walt

The best of Disney's Animal Kingdom

The more time I spend in Disney's Animal Kingdom, the more it climbs the list of favorite Disney parks.  As the park celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year (I can't believe it's been open 20 years already!), here's a list of my favorite Animal Kingdom experiences. Rope Drop  -The first time I experienced rope drop at Disney's Animal Kingdom, it came as a complete surprise.  We had finished the Jingle Jungle 5K (back when that was still the title) and since we were already in Animal Kingdom, we entered the turnstiles as soon as they started letting guests in.  The plan was to head to Kilamanjaro Safaris before our breakfast reservation at Tusker House.  This was during those quiet days before Pandora -the World of Avatar opened.  Imagine our surprise as we were standing in front of the Tree of Life when a flock of parrots came flying overhead.  They landed in front of the tree for a few minutes then took off flying again.  It was absolutely incredible and one of

Vegetarian Eats at Walt Disney World

One thing that seems to continually surprise people during their trips to Walt Disney World is the quality of the food!  At many theme parks, your choices can be limited to burgers, hot dogs, and fries.  While you can definitely get those items at Walt Disney World, there is more to enjoy!  Disney has gotten very good at catering to guests with all kinds of dietary needs.  At each park and at Disney Springs, you can find pescetarian, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, low calorie and many other kinds of food. I'm a pescetarian and I've never found an issue finding something to eat at Walt Disney World.  Here are some of my favorites: I can't make any sort of food list without including my favorite  snack on property.  You all know how much I love Disney snacks, so picking one as my favorite is a big deal.  The Citrus Swirl can be found at the Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland in Magic Kingdom and it's a swirl of frozen orange juice and vanilla soft-serve.  Take t
