It's only July, but it's time to begin talking about the most wonderful time of the year. I'm not talking about Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. I'm talking about the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival! Running from August 30, 2018 through November 12, 2018, the festival packs in SIX WEEKS of culinary demonstrations, fun events, a half marathon, and great eats and sips. Taste your way around the world!
The Ireland booth is always popular
International Marketplace Booths -These booths are the heart of the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. Each booth features between 3-5 items to snack on as well as several drink options themed around that particular country.
Smoked Salmon and Potato Pancake with Herbed Sour Cream from the Scotland booth
You can definitely make a meal out of several of these small bites. Pro Tip: Split food with someone so you get to try more things!
Food and Wine Festival Center -Start your tour around the world here. Pick up your free festival passport so you can track your progress around the world. Sign up for a demonstration or a chef meet & greet and check out some of the free exhibits. One of my favorites is Ghirardelli's "From the Bean to the Bar." Here, the whole process to making chocolate is detailed. At the entrance, Ghiradelli chocolate angels hand out free samples to nosh on as you explore. My favorite parts of the exhibit are all the chocolate displays, created by the Disney chefs.

Eat to the Beat Concert Series -If you're a fan of 80's and 90's music, then you are in luck. Performed three times during the evenings at the American Gardens Theater, the Eat to the Beat concert series features a variety of artists. Find out who's performing during your trip here.
Wine and Dine Half Marathon -Running the first weekend in November this year, the Wine and Dine Half Marathon weekend has something for everyone. The events include the Health and Fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports, Kids Races, Fall Feast 5K, Wine and Dine 10K, Wine and Dine Half Marathon, and the Wine and Dine Two Course Challenge. Currently, these races are already sold out, but sometimes registrations open again. Keep an eye on the runDisney website!

One of the best things about the Wine and Dine Half Marathon is the after party. This is the only runDisney weekend that includes a special party in the park (Epcot) for runners. Admission is free with your half marathon or two course challenge registration. If you have friends and family that want to join you, they are able to purchase tickets. The food and wine booths are open and have snacks and drinks available for purchase. Some Epcot attractions (usually Spaceship Earth, Test Track, Soarin', and Frozen Ever After) are running. There are also some unique character meet and greets.

We should start hearing about the menus for the festival booths soon and I can't wait!
